It has been a whirlwind month of wonderful family time. After Grandma Liz left for Grand Rapids, Aunt Jeannine arrived for Maya fun. Unfortunately, Maya spent the first week of her visit with a nasty Michigan bug, coughing, runny nose and overall miserable time sleeping. Needless to say, we were all spent by the end of the week. Luckily, Jeannine stayed on to see her bounce back with new vigor. Her waking hours are spent busily crawling and pulling herself up on everything (and yes, she has learned to squat down on her knees or throw herself on her butt to get down). Here are a few recent shots of Maya with her Aunt Jeannine (the first shot has Cousin Jessica as well) and a few shots of curious Maya...

Had to blog today because I have proof that Maya has become VERTICAL. After a lifetime of seeing the world from either her back or her stomach, she has now found that big items are fun to pull up on. Now she needs to learn how to get back down. But more on that soon...

Cousin Heaven

Cousin Heaven has officially arrived and sadly gone after a whirlwind week. Nokomis, Althea, Vanessa and Grandma Liz arrived for a fun week of spending time with little cousin Maya. To keep up with the girls, Maya learned to quickly crawl and eventually pull herself up and stand. We had a great slumber party with lots of games (Icecreamopoly and croquet), walks to the library, My Fair Lady production, a puppet show, a day at the beach and yes, even Disneyland. (I'm tired just typing it out)...

Grandma Liz helped to hang Maya's new swing in the backyard. She loves to swing!

They took her on a hike where they saw lots of lizards, bugs and even a snake.
Of course, there was a lunch break...
Nokomis and Althea became fast friends with Isabella. Lots of giggles...
We were so sad to see them leave. Can't wait to see them again in Michigan for Nick's wedding.

Yes, this blog reads like a children's picture book, heavy in photos and little text. Figured, there is no way to write in words what one photo can catch in the Maya expression. We are enjoying a little family time before the crazy April month. John leaves for Italy next week and we are awaiting the arrival of Grandma Liz, Nokomis, Althea and Vanessa. They are coming in town to help with Maya and for a wonderful week of fun! Sure to be photos of "cousin heaven."
