Memorial Day

If Memorial Day is any indication, we are going to have a wonderful summer this year.  We started with the early bird beach special with the Kryahs.  We met Michael, Wendy, Logan and Bannon at El Matador beach (just north of Malibu).  It is a down a cliffside with wonderful access to the beach, tidepools, and most importantly, sand crabs...

After a lunch, we headed back for a nap.  Something about the beach makes anyone crash out.  We then headed to Uncle Tom and Aunt Jen's place for dinner.
Maya hit the pool with Dad and Audrey (it was bath water temperature).

Really fun to see all the Muldoons and have dinner.
What a glorious day and we can't wait to see what summer has in store...

Singing Girl

Our singing girl...

KC and Levon's Wedding

I headed to the wonderful city of Chicago for a college friend's wedding.  KC and Levon were married at 4th Presbyterian Church, across from the John Hancock building.  I took off for a much needed girls weekend and joined Beth for the celebration.
KC looked breathtaking at the wedding and the groom was a proud and happy man!
KC, Beth and I lived together for a semester in college and all attended the Rome Center together.  So great to have wonderful friends for so long.  We danced the night away until the 4am wake-up call (wait, I didn't sleep) took me off to O'Hare for a 6am flight.
Maya was so thrilled to see me home that she refused to nap.  So LA summer weather was a perfect excuse to head to Aunt Mary's house for a dip in the pool.
Maya swam for over an hour - even using her arms and legs and pretty much swimming by "myself."
Maya was so excited that she kept saying to John and I that it was a "happy day!"

Crazy Month

It has been a crazy month.  John spent most of April and May on the road.  He performed in Tennessee, Seattle, Palm Springs and Santa Fe.  He even managed to get to Chicago for a duo gig with Natalie Cole on a private jet (living the life).  While in Chicago, he was able to connect with friends KC and Levon who are getting married this upcoming weekend (Anna will provide those updates soon - yeah).
He was also able to connect with his college friend, Andy Distel.  Andy and Wanda had a beautiful daughter, Mia, just months before Maya was born.

YeYe came for a visit this month as well.  For a quick weekend, he spent time with Maya who ran around in a circle for 5 minutes when she saw him.
She loved all the YeYe attention and managed to tell him about her life, her toys, her love of swings and even pointed out the "Mona Lisa" at a local bookstore.

We headed to Mary and Marty's for dinner and Maya was overjoyed with so much attention.  That is, until, she spotted the pool.  Maya has zero fear and the picture below shows her determination to jump in the pool.
Aunt Mary indulged her...dress and all...
This month has proved be perfect park weather...
and ice cream just goes so well.
May is just not complete without John's wonderful B-Day.  We threw a birthday BBQ for his 33rd year!

Photo Shoot

We had Maya's photos taken for Easter and I just received the disk of photos. Here are a few of my favorites (including the crying shot - she was not a fan of the camera in her face, she did much better when we headed outside).
