Maya's favorite song is Skip to my Lou these days. Thought I would give you a little window into our nighttime dance routine.

John home, Getty and Santa Monica all in one weekend!
Aunt Jeannine here for my last post.
It has been a very busy rest of the week!
John came home from his 24 hour flights to Asia and back touring with Natalie Cole.
We were styling in our shades.
Maya LOVED the fountains. A water baby she is for sure!
Watching the bees. The flowers I liked. Maya was all about the bees.
Then we were to go meet Uncle Jeremy.. the look of wonder on her face thinking about "eremy."
And there he is! Far in the distance, like a model from some GQ magazine.
Maya liked Jeremy's shades better than her own. We did too! Check out that reflection!!
And loved singing songs and clapping with Jeremy at lunch in the beautiful cafe that only those who are in the know know about. We are now in the know.
And, after a long day, Maya struggled to make it home without falling asleep...for if she did, nap time would be forever ruined. Such a trooper this one! She made it all the way home before falling asleep. (This shot very reminiscent of a photo taken of John and I sleeping in the car as kids.)
Then after nap, the first painting day ever! Maya had so much fun mixing all the colors together as she painted while Aunt Jeannine ran around trying to get pictures of the parrots that fly overhead here at dusk.
Then, on Saturday, we drove to Santa Monica. The swings were a big hit with everyone. Maya even remembered when Ye-ye pushed her on the swings in this very park months ago.
And Anna, one hot mama, looked very LA in her shades.

Then we walked the Santa Monica Pier. Very exciting.
One little girl in one very big world.
And rode the rides. Maya wasn't sure to trust this rocking car.. perhaps if it were a horse.
It has been a very busy rest of the week!
Then Anna, Maya and I went to the Getty to see where Uncle Jeremy works. Nice digs!

More pics of Maya and her Aunt Jeannine
Aunt Jeannine here again..
I had so many pics that were just too good not to share. I thought while Maya is napping (or trying to nap, she is actually in her crib talking to her baby right now, singing songs and making up sentences) I would post a few more pics... in no particular time order.
Maya too cool for school with her shades, her baby, her rice cake and her "driver" pushing her in the stroller.
Bob's Big Boy with Mama and Aunt Jeannine!! A little bit of the west brought to the mid-west. (I was upset they did not have Slim Jims.)

Aunt Jeannine's Visit Continues
Aunt Jeannine here again.
I now understand why Anna no longer updates the Blog every other day. Turns out life with an almost two year old is very, very busy!!! :)

And had fun with "Mom, friend" Elizabeth and her "baby, Abbey", who was such a bit hit that every baby is now named Abbey.

Both Maya and I were enamored with the huge rose fountain outside the hall. Loving that water.. no matter where it is or what form it comes in.
Elizabeth and baby Abbey had visited the day before and I got such a great pic that I had to post it.

There was also a visit with the Aunt Mary, Michael, Wendy and their boys, Logan and Bannon. I got a taste of Marty's famous cooking and was not disappointed. That was the best steak I've had in years! Maya loved it too, she had three slices and had a very full belly.
There have also been the lovely trips to the park, which sometimes gets taken for granted here. The weather has just been great and I have loved it sooo much. Traffic aside, I can see why people move out here!!! (It's 28 degrees with 50 mph winds in Michigan today.)
Maya has become quite the Cali girl, working out on her walk. She pushed the stroller the whole way home from the park, about 8 blocks! I can only imagine what her little arms must have felt like after that.
But, luckily after bath that night, Jeremy came for a visit! All pain was gone once her "ermey" was there. I am proof that Maya does indeed talk about Jeremy all the time. I think it's just for the car. Sweet ride!
And,, I promised video of Maya, here is the thing I was most impressed with, she is writing with markers Aunt Mary gave her, putting the tops on and off by herself, knows her colors and has so much fun writing each day. This video was from before John left.

On top of the usual everyday playing outside in the backyard with the various plastic toy replicas of grown-up machines, there are outside the house activities too.. like the Symphony! For kids! Held at Disney Hall in downtown LA, this place is very, very high up and we were at the top! I must admit I got a little dizzy.

John will be home tomorrow from his big trip with Natalie Cole. I am sure life will continue to be busy and fun here in LA. I got another week on my trip here and am looking forward to more sunshine, walks with Maya and talks with Anna and John.
Much love ~Jeannine (aka: Ne-Ne, Aunt Neen, Ah Neen and Jaa-neen)

Hi everyone! ~ It's Aunt Jeannine!

I am having fun taking LOTS of pictures and since they are on my computer and we finally got me hooked up wirelessly to the net and I LOVE this blog when I am away from Miss Maya, I decided to go ahead and post them myself. Anna is busy with work, friends over, being a mom and getting John to the airport. (Go Anna!)

We are having a great time here in LA. I am in town watching Maya while John goes on his tour of Asia with Natalie Cole. ( Go John! Safe travels.)

Maya showed me all her "tricks".. inluding playing the piano..
the sun was hitting just right so I got great pics of her 'twin' reflection in the piano gloss.
And showed me how she can draw with her "markas", markers. I didn' t believe Anna, but yes! Maya knows all her colors and names them all as she takes them out of the pack. She also puts the caps on and off the markers and draws circles and dots. "Dot. Dot. Dot" is now a favorite mantra as she draws. I have videos, but I'm not sure how to post them. I'll get Anna's help with that later.
