Off we went to see Maya's first Nutcracker, with her Uncle Nick as the Nutcracker. After reading the story everyday for the last 2 weeks, she was thoroughly enthralled during the performance. It didn't hurt knowing most of the dancers names on stage, the enchanted life she leads.
Nokomis and Althea joined us for opening night. Nokomis is a Bon Bon this year in the Nutcracker, but is in the second cast. I will be sure to post pictures of her next weekend.
The after party was a hit, punch, chocolate-covered strawberries and cakes. Not to mention attention from uncles and real prima donna ballerinas.
Nick was an amazing Nutcracker, so princely. Laura was the Snow
Queen and looked like the perfect ballerina in a music box. So pretty and darling. Maya was particularly thrilled with Laura's performance and shouted out for her every time she left the stage. Her best shout-out of the performance, however, was during Arabian when she loudly announced that "they are naked!"
