San Diego

Aunt Laura and Uncle Nick pointed south for a fun 3 day vacation to San Diego, and off we went.  Laura has 2 aunts that live in an amazing estate just north of San Diego.  They had 2 extra guest areas and gave the guest house to John, Maya and I.
The place was a cool house with a neat cactus garden in the back.  Maya loved to collect the rocks in the back and stayed away from the "ouchies."
We took a walk through the Del Mar area and loved the restaurants and shops.
The highlight of the trip was the downtown Children's Museum.  A perfect place for a 16 month old.  She could touch everything!
Of course, Maya, our resident genius had to show off a few skills ;o)
Nick tried out these neat bikes...
The bubble station was by far the biggest hit.
Nick's bubble stayed in Maya's saturated hand...

We took quite a few walks around the estate and even saw a heron and the other big hit, ducks.
A great trip and a wonderful way to end Nick and Laura's stay, just so sad they live so far away!

You really fooled me with the "MAYA" writing on that wall! Looks like you had a lot of fun with all your family members. We missed you -- let's get together for brunch/dinner/playdate or something soon.

We were so inspired by your post--we took a trip to a Children's Museum, as well.

Looks like a fabulous time!
